🙌 Welcome back to Startup Wednesdays, featuring #VCs, #founders & #operators here in South-East Asia. For this week, we have Syifa Zakia, Head of Entrepreneur Experience at Endeavor Indonesia

💭 What is your favourite part of your job?

Endeavor is a leading global community of, by, and for high-impact entrepreneurs – those who dream bigger, scale faster, and pay it forward.

I am passionate about connecting the dots between founders and other founders, mentors, or potential partners/investors, and how these small dots can make a huge impact on the business of our portfolio companies globally.

💭 How does Endeavor measure the impact of its support programs on the growth and success of entrepreneurs?

We measure our impact through the revenue generated and the jobs created by our portfolio companies. On top of that, we also measure NPS and the number of hours donated to support them. In 2022, our Indonesian portfolio generated $2.5B+ in revenue and 21K+ jobs, with a consistent NPS of 80 and 500+ hours donated to support our entrepreneurs.

💭 Are there unique challenges that entrepreneurs in Indonesia face compared to those in other regions, and how does Endeavor tailor its support to address these specific challenges?

Every founder is unique and has unique needs. Endeavor provides a white glove service that is tailored to each individual founder. Our main value is “entrepreneur first”, and everything we do is to scale the founders, so that they can scale their company.

Last year, we believe most founders around the world faced similar challenges in getting into profitability, getting a better margin and stronger unit economics, balancing growth and burn, and managing cash flows. Some were looking into inorganic growth through M&A, some were turning into lean mode operations.

Since we tailor our services to individual founder, we continue to listen to them, adapt to different scenarios and create value based on their most urgent needs.

💭 How does Endeavor encourage active participation and engagement within its entrepreneurial community?

We always say that Endeavor is an ally in growing their business, therefore each touchpoint requires their active participation – be it mentoring, founder to founder connection, access to market, investor introduction, personal growth program, and partnership exploration.

Most of the support we provide is on 1on1 basis, therefore it’s super focused on creating value for them personally and professionally, and they have no choice but to actively participate. We also encourage them to pay it forward, to share, inspire, and mentor other entrepreneurs, i.e. through Endeavor Scale Up, Nurture to Scale, and Greentech Entrepreneur Network.
