- SpaceX catches Starship booster mid-air
- Reusability milestone achieved
- Space exploration future looks brighter
A Giant Leap for Reusability
SpaceX has achieved a major milestone in its Starship development program. During the fifth test flight, the company successfully caught the returning Super Heavy booster using massive “chopstick” arms at the launch site.
Double Success
The test flight met two primary objectives: catching the Super Heavy booster and achieving an on-target Starship upper stage splashdown in the Indian Ocean. This marks a significant step towards SpaceX’s goal of rapid reusability for the entire Starship vehicle.
Eyes on the Future
With this achievement, SpaceX moves closer to revolutionizing space access.
The company plans to bring the Starship upper stage back to the landing site in future tests, furthering its mission to make life multi-planetary and support NASA’s Artemis moon program.
