- Australian job site Seek merged its Seek, Jobstreet, and Jobsdb platforms into one unified site.
- The combined 500M job seekers and 5M employers will allow Seek to refine its AI matching algorithms.
- Seek aims better to connect talent and employers in growth markets like Indonesia.
Seek, the Australian employment website has combined its three major job search platforms – Seek, Jobstreet, and Jobsdb – into one unified platform, the company announced this week.
The merger aims to reach more job seekers and employers across the Asia Pacific region by bringing together the functionalities and data of the three sites.
AI and data: the power duo
According to Seek CEO Peter Bithos, the unified platform will leverage artificial intelligence and data from the combined 500 million job seekers and 5 million employers using the sites.
This larger dataset will allow Seek to refine its AI algorithms to match candidates better to open positions. The platform also provides tools to help employers assess potential hires and assist job seekers in finding suitable job recommendations.
Historical context
The merger comes about 10 years after Seek obtained Jobstreet and Jobsdb. Seek states it has invested $118 million into the sites since its acquisition.
The company believes the integration addresses the growing demand for talent in Indonesia and other Asian markets based on recent Jobstreet data.
Expansion & innovation: what’s next?
Earlier this year, Seek launched Jobstreet Express in Singapore to connect “semi-skilled” workers with employers, similar to a service introduced in Indonesia in 2022.
By consolidating its sites, Seek aims to reach job seekers more efficiently across the Asia Pacific with advanced features and better data.
