- Ninja Van cuts tech jobs again.
- Junior roles in Indonesia, Vietnam, and Singapore affected.
- Company diversifies operations amid layoffs
Déjà vu, anyone?
Ninja Van, the logistics startup, has initiated its second round of layoffs, primarily affecting junior tech positions across its offices in Indonesia, Vietnam, and Singapore.
The announcement came during a mandatory meeting for tech staff on July 1, where it was revealed that all tech departments would face reductions.
The numbers game
This latest cut impacts 5% of junior tech roles in Singapore, following April’s layoffs which affected 10% of the tech division, all based in Singapore.
A company spokesperson confirmed the cuts, stating they were the result of an internal review and efforts to minimize impact were unsuccessful.
Despite the downsizing, Ninja Van is diversifying its operations. Some retained employees have been reassigned to support newly launched business units, including ventures into cold chain and B2B restock segments.
This strategic shift aims to foster long-term growth for the logistics startup.
