The notifications inform users that their existing photo posts will be shared on the new app, though they have the option to opt out.

A TikTok spokesperson confirmed that the company is working on the app as part of its commitment to innovation and empowering its community to create and share their creativity through photos and text in a dedicated space.

Intense competition between TikTok and Meta
TikTok and Meta are fiercely competing in the social media space. TikTok’s upcoming photo-sharing app comes at a time when Meta has rolled out a vertical-first video player for Facebook.
