Elon’s tantrum targets Apple
Elon Musk is on a rampage, threatening to ban Apple devices from his companies over the tech giant’s newly announced OpenAI integrations.
In a series of posts on X, the Tesla, SpaceX, and xAI exec vowed to prohibit Apple devices if the company “integrates OpenAI at the OS level.”
Privacy concerns or power plays?
Musk’s outrage seems to stem from a misunderstanding of the relationship between Apple and OpenAI.
While the integration will allow users to access ChatGPT through Siri and system-wide writing tools, Apple emphasizes that users maintain control, approving any data sharing before it occurs.
Despite Musk’s claims that Apple is “selling user data down the river,” the tech giant insists that requests are not logged, and users can choose to connect their existing ChatGPT accounts.
The privacy measures, however, have done little to quell the Tesla CEO’s concerns, as he continues to denounce the integration as “creepy spyware.”
