OpenAI’s spring update event unveiled GPT-4o, a model boasting voice and vision capabilities that elevate ChatGPT to virtual assistant status, evoking comparisons to the movie “Her.”

Not to be outdone, Google’s I/O conference featured a flurry of announcements and integrations for its flagship model, Gemini, signaling the tech giant’s commitment to staying competitive in the AI race.

Leadership changes rocked both AWS and OpenAI this week. AWS CEO Adam Selipsky will step down, succeeded by AWS sales chief Matt Garman.

OpenAI co-founder and chief scientist Ilya Sutskever departed the company alongside Jan Leike, Jakub Pachocki, OpenAI’s director of research, will take the reins as chief scientist.

Meta says goodbye to Workplace

In a surprising move, Meta announced the shuttering of its enterprise communications business, Workplace, casting doubt on the company’s dedication to its enterprise ambitions.
