Investors can’t get enough of Buyandship’s charm
Hong Kong-based Buyandship has secured an additional US$6 million in Series B funding, led by Altara Ventures. KSK Angels, AVA Angels, and Venture University also participated in the round.
This follows the company’s US$10 million raise from Cool Japan Fund in September 2023, bringing its total Series B capital to US$16 million.
Established in 2014, Buyandship operates a cross-border ecommerce logistics platform, enabling customers from 12 countries to shop from various global marketplaces, including Japan, Korea, Australia, Italy, Canada, the US, and the UK.
The company boasts over 2 million registered users and more than 12 million transactions to date, supported by its network of 11 overseas warehouses.
AI-powered shopping and Southeast Asian adventures
Following its initial Series B funding, Buyandship entered the Vietnamese market and launched a virtual personal shopping assistant and recommendation system.
The AI-based tool is available on Buyaholic, the company’s social network featuring user-generated content.
In 2023, Buyandship’s peak season customer sign-ups increased by 93% year-on-year. The company plans to enhance its platform’s product search and customer purchase experience, automate operations, and expand to new markets in Southeast Asia.
