- Khazanah launches programs to boost Malaysia’s VC ecosystem
- EMP targets local fund managers
- RMI aims to attract international investors to Malaysia
Nurturing Local Talent
Khazanah Nasional, Malaysia’s sovereign wealth fund, is launching two initiatives to strengthen the country’s venture capital landscape. The Emerging Fund Managers’ Programme (EMP) targets Malaysian general partners raising their first, second, or third fund, regardless of location.
Attracting Global Players
Alongside the EMP, Khazanah is introducing the Regional Fund Managers’ Initiative (RMI). This program aims to entice international fund managers to bolster Malaysia’s innovation ecosystem. Both initiatives are part of the broader National Fund of Funds strategy.
Ready for Takeoff
Set to debut in November 2024, the EMP seeks to build investor confidence by showcasing fund managers poised for regional competition.
These programs signal Malaysia’s commitment to fostering a robust VC environment and positioning itself as a key player in the Southeast Asian startup scene.
