Vietnamese electric two-wheeler (2W) startups Dat Bike and Selex Motors are confident in their ability to compete with Chinese and regional players.

Speaking at Tech in Asia’s Saigon Summit, the founders emphasized differentiated products and targeting specific market segments.

Dat Bike focuses on premium, made-to-order electric bikes, while Selex Motors prioritizes building a robust battery-swapping station network. Both startups have secured backing from well-known investors.

Overcoming hurdles, spurring adoption transitioning

Vietnam’s massive gasoline motorbike market to EVs remains a challenge. The startups are focusing on safe, convenient, and accessible charging solutions to spur adoption.

Dat Bike and Selex Motors have their sights set on regional expansion. They believe government incentives for EV consumers and manufacturers, along with standardized charging, could make Vietnam a leader in the electric revolution.
