Singapore Gets a Crypto Boost
Coinbase, America’s leading cryptocurrency exchange, launched its new engineering hub in Singapore through a strategic partnership alongside the Economic Development Board.
This initiative aims to nurture local blockchain talent and strengthen the region’s cryptocurrency infrastructure.
Building Tomorrow’s Blockchain Talent
The hub will function through a structured program targeting undergraduate engineering students and early-career professionals. Country Director Hassan Ahmed emphasizes recruiting fresh graduates who align their vision to Web3 development, regardless of prior crypto experience.
Strong Growth Trajectory
Following its 2023 major payment institution license from MAS, Coinbase continues expanding its Singapore presence.
The company, employing 70 local staff across various departments, has already invested in 18 Singapore-based Web3 startups. Their recent financial success shows in Q3 2024, posting $75.5 million net income.
