- Singapore startup Yolk.fm raises $1.25M for text-free social app.
- Users share images and react with AI-generated stickers of themselves.
- Ex-Googlers behind it aim to make the app feel like a toy.
Singapore startup Yolk.fm has raised $1.25 million in pre-seed funding for its unique text-free social app. Instead of typing posts, users share images and react with AI-generated animated stickers of themselves.
Pivoting to playfulness
The app comes from ex-Googlers previously behind the restaurant recommendation app Drigmo. After noticing a glitch in creating live face stickers, they pivoted to building an app around the format.
Beyond posting and reacting, Yolk lets users collect sticker reactions in a “profile fidget spinner.”

The future for Yolk?
Initially, Yolk considered adding text chat, but ultimately dropped the idea to keep things focused on visual expression. The founders want the app to feel like a toy.

At 3 people, for now, they plan to grow steadily as they test marketing and build on the $1.25 million raise. Yolk’s creative twist gives it viral potential in the crowded social space. The team hopes sticking to stickers will help the text-free app find its niche.
