The countdown begins
In a strategic move, Meta is pulling the plug on Workplace, its enterprise communication platform designed for business teams and organizations.
The decision marks the end of a decade-long journey for the product, which once aimed to carve a niche in the corporate productivity space.
According to an internal memo, Workplace will operate as usual until August 31, 2025. From September 1, 2025, to May 31, 2026, users can access the platform in read-only mode to download existing data. After that, Workplace will be permanently decommissioned.
New horizons beckoning
As Meta shifts its focus towards AI and metaverse technologies, the company recommends Zoom’s Workvivo as a migration-ready alternative for Workplace customers.
This strategic pivot underscores Meta’s commitment to shaping the future of work through cutting-edge innovations.
