Streaming Giant Expands Digital Performer Horizons

17LIVE Group Limited, a Singapore Exchange-listed livestreaming platform, has acquired mikai Inc., a prominent Japanese entertainment startup specializing in VTuber production.

The strategic purchase bolsters the company’s virtual influencer ecosystem, positioning 17LIVE to capitalize on the rapidly growing digital entertainment market.

Powering Up Virtual Artist Potential

The acquisition introduces Re:AcT, mikai’s VTuber agency featuring popular virtual artists like Leona Shishigami and Kyo Hanabasami, into 17LIVE’s portfolio.

By integrating mikai’s robust brand and talent discovery infrastructure, the company aims to amplify virtual performer visibility and engagement across global platforms.

A Vision for Digital Performance Innovation

CEO Jiang Honghui emphasized the move’s significance, describing it crucial for implementing their “Platform + IP” strategy. Leveraging mikai’s expertise and 17LIVE’s livestreaming technology, the company seeks to transform digital entertainment by creating unique virtual performer experiences and unlocking innovative revenue streams.
