VinFast, the Vietnamese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, has commenced sales of its VF DrgnFly e-bike in the United States, priced at $2,599.

Energy optimization system enables 68-milerange

The e-bike, which was unveiled at the 2023 Consumer Electronics Show in January, boasts smart features that connect to a mobile app, allowing users to control various driving modes and monitor ride data.

The VF DrgnFly e-bike is equipped an energy optimization system that enables it to travel up to 68 miles on a single charge.

Customers can purchase the e-bike through VinFast’s US dealers, and each bike comes a two-year warranty.

Vingroup’s ambitious growth plans

Vingroup, the parent company of VinFast, has been actively scaling up its operations over the past year, outlining significant expansion efforts in Indonesia, India, and the Philippines.

However, this expansion poses financial risks to Vingroup, as VinFast has incurred losses totaling $5.7 billion over the last three years, according to Reuters. In 2023, VinFast’s sales fell short of its 50,000 target, reaching only 35,000 units.
