inDrive aims to double Malaysian drivers by 2024. The app expands beyond rides to courier services. Recent funding fuels growth in Malaysia’s competitive transportation market.
inDrive, the ride-hailing app known for its unique fare-bidding system, is revving up its presence in Malaysia.
The company projects its driver base to double from 10,000 to 20,000 by the end of 2024. Already the fourth most downloaded ride-hailing app in Malaysia last year, inDrive is cruising towards becoming a major player in the country’s transportation landscape.
From Kuala Lumpur to Kota Kinabalu
The app’s coverage now spans major cities across Malaysia, including Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor Bahru, and several East Malaysian cities.
But inDrive isn’t just about getting from A to B. The company is diversifying its offerings, eyeing courier and intercity services to boost its revenue streams.
More than just a ride
inDrive is thinking outside the car. The app now offers in-app specialist services, connecting users to professionals for tasks ranging from repairs and construction to pet services and IT support.
Group president Mark Loughran emphasizes the company’s commitment to fair pricing and continuous improvement based on market trends and customer feedback.
This innovative approach, coupled with recent funding of $150 million from General Catalyst, positions inDrive for an exciting journey ahead in the Malaysian market.
