Ride-hailing Gets a Fresh Face

Estonia’s popular mobility platform Bolt has confirmed its upcoming launch in Malaysia, marking a significant expansion of its global footprint. T

he company, already licensed by the Land Public Transport Agency (Apad), stands poised to challenge existing players in Malaysia’s dynamic ride-hailing market.

Driver Hunt Underway

The platform kicked off its Malaysian journey by initiating driver recruitment in August 2023.

This move followed the strategic hiring push for a Kuala Lumpur-based country manager, signaling Bolt’s commitment to establishing strong local operations.

Beyond Basic Rides

Operating successfully in 45+ countries, including Thailand, Bolt brings its proven track record to Malaysian shores.

Though the company remains silent about introducing its Bolt Food delivery service, its primary ride-hailing platform is ready to roll out.
