- Putin ally weaponizes Tesla Cybertruck
- Kadyrov praises EV for potential Ukraine use
- Stunt raises questions about tech’s role in conflicts
From Electric to Electrifying
Ramzan Kadyrov, the head of Russia’s Chechnya region, has taken Tesla’s Cybertruck to a whole new level. In a recent Telegram post, Kadyrov shared footage of himself driving the futuristic vehicle equipped what appeared to be a machine gun mounted on top.
This unexpected modification transforms the eco-friendly electric vehicle into a potential instrument of warfare, blurring the lines between civilian technology and military hardware.
Elon’s “Cyberbeast” Heads East
Praising both the vehicle and Tesla CEO Elon Musk, Kadyrov suggested the modified Cybertruck could soon see action in Ukraine.
He referred to the EV “Cyberbeast” a “true invulnerable and fast animal,” lauding its maneuverability and speed.
Kadyrov even extended an invitation to Musk to visit Grozny, the capital of Chechnya, expressing confidence that the Russian Foreign Ministry wouldn’t object to such a trip.
PR Stunt or Real Threat?
Known for his publicity stunts and close ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin, Kadyrov’s latest move raises eyebrows. Whether this weaponized Cybertruck will actually roll onto Ukrainian battlefields remains uncertain, but it certainly showcases an unexpected application of Tesla’s cutting-edge technology.
The incident also highlights the complex geopolitical landscape where consumer products can potentially be repurposed for military use, prompting questions about the responsibilities of tech companies in global conflicts.
