Curtains up on Truth TV
Donald Trump’s Truth Social is taking center stage with plans to launch a live TV streaming platform.
Brace yourselves for a stellar lineup of “news networks,” “religious channels,” and content that has faced cancellation or suppression elsewhere. Family-friendly films and documentaries are also on the playbill.
Truth Social’s streaming service will debut in three phases. First up, a CDN for streaming to the Truth Social app on Android, iOS, and the web.
Next, OTT streaming apps for phones, tablets, and other devices will take the spotlight. Finally, a streaming app for TVs will make its grand entrance.
Rehearsals complete, ready for primetime
According to TMTG CEO Devin Nunes, the streaming service has completed its “research and development phase” after six months of testing on web and iOS platforms.
“We’re excited to move forward with the next big phase for Truth Social,” Nunes declared, aiming to provide a “permanent home for high-quality news and entertainment.”
While Truth Social prepares for its streaming debut, rival X (formerly Twitter) has also been vying for the “video-first” spotlight.
As the curtain rises on this new act, only time will tell if Truth Social’s streaming ambitions will be a hit or a flop.
