Money talks, safety walks?

Amazon’s ambitious reality show “Beast Games,” featuring YouTube sensation MrBeast, has encountered significant hurdles.

The $5 million prize show, announced in March, was meant to be a game-changer for Amazon’s TV ad sales.

However, recent reports of safety concerns and participant mistreatment have cast a shadow over the production.

In a bid to secure the deal, Amazon granted MrBeast unprecedented creative control and ad sponsor approval rights.

This decision, made during a competitive bidding process, has now backfired. Insiders reveal that Amazon’s eagerness for a hit show led to a hands-off approach, potentially compromising safety protocols typically enforced in reality TV productions.

The controversy has reportedly stalled ad deals and raised questions about the show’s future. Amazon executives are scrambling to manage the fallout, considering pushing back the launch date.

Despite these setbacks, the tech giant’s robust content spending and diverse portfolio may help weather this storm, but concerns linger about potential budget cuts for unscripted shows.
