Strategic Entertainment Expansion

Microsoft partners with Merlin Entertainments to create Minecraft-themed attractions, investing over $110 million in initial U.S. and U.K. locations.

Development plans include themed rides, retail spaces, and hotel accommodations, marking significant expansion beyond digital realm.

Gaming Giant’s New Frontier

Partnership leverages Minecraft’s position as world’s best-selling video game, boasting 140 million monthly players and over 300 million units sold. The expansion represents first major physical world presence for the franchise that surpassed gaming titans like Grand Theft Auto V and PUBG: Battlegrounds.

Collaborative Development

Project combines Mojang and Microsoft’s brand expertise with Merlin’s location-based entertainment experience. Initial attractions planned for next two years, targeting both existing parks and new city center locations in strategic markets.
