The $3M Seed Round for Japan’s Gacha Monsters

Animoca Brands has led a $3 million seed round in Japan-based gaming entertainment startup Gacha Monsters.

The funding will support the development of original multimedia intellectual properties like Poglin across formats, including video games, anime, comics, physical merchandise, and Web3 applications.

 

The First Poglin Game in 2024!!

This marks Hong Kong blockchain investor Animoca’s latest deal in 2023 after unveiling a new $1 billion fund focused on the metaverse and Web3.

Gacha Monsters plans to launch the first Poglin game in early 2024 en route to a broader entertainment franchise.

 

Who is Jia Shen in Animoca?

Veteran game developer Jia Shen leads the startup and will soon announce a partnership with an unnamed major Japanese IP holder.

Animoca’s investment reflects rising interest in leveraging blockchain and AI tools to cultivate multi-channel entertainment IPs with global appeal.
