From Russia to Southeast Asia
Tooba, a Russian social crowdfunding platform, has launched its app in Malaysia with a focus on supporting the country’s indigenous Orang Asli population.
This move marks Tooba’s entry into the Southeast Asian market, bringing its successful fundraising model to a new audience.
Tackling Local Challenges
The app aims to address the unique challenges faced by Malaysia’s approximately 210,000 Orang Asli, who primarily reside in rural areas.
Tooba’s initiatives include funding for community schools, solar water pumps, electrification systems, and essential supplies, targeting issues like poverty, limited education access, and inadequate healthcare.
Global Growth, Local Impact
Founded in Dagestan in 2018, Tooba has already transferred over $26 million to various organizations across Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, the UAE, and the USA.
With more than 300,000 active users globally, the platform’s expansion into Malaysia represents a significant step in its mission to leverage technology for social good in diverse cultural contexts.
