The collaboration
BillEase, a leading buy now, pay later (BNPL) provider in the Philippines, has announced a new partnership with Razer Fintech, the financial technology arm of gaming brand Razer.
The collaboration will see BillEase provide flexible BNPL payment options to merchants using Razer’s payment services.
Empowering Razer Merchant services
Under the agreement, clients of Razer Merchant Services will be empowered to offer BillEase’s installment plans to customers at checkout.
These card-free plans allow shoppers to pay for purchases in installments over 10-20 days or over several months, interest-free.
Growth and impact
The partnership aims to foster growth and financial inclusion within the e-commerce sector.
BillEase has seen rapid growth since its launch in 2017. The BNPL firm doubled its annual recurring revenue to $60 million in 2022.
Meanwhile, Razer Fintech processed over $6 billion in total payment volume last financial year. The collaboration combines BillEase’s fast-growing BNPL business and Razer’s extensive merchant network across Southeast Asia.
BNPL has gained popularity across the Philippines and Southeast Asia. The partnership demonstrates both companies’ commitment to expanding flexible payment options.
Statista projects BNPL spending in the Philippines will reach $900 million by 2026, a nine-fold increase from 2021.
The collaboration is timely as more merchants look to offer installment payment plans amid growth in e-commerce.
