Amazon is keeping the live shopping craze alive by launching an “Amazon Live” FAST (free ad-supported TV) channel on Prime Video and Freevee.
Previously confined to desktop, mobile, and Fire TV, this move brings interactive, shoppable content to a wider audience, offering customers in the U.S. more ways to engage with their favorite creators and brands.
Reality stars shine on the small screen
Amazon Live’s FAST channel promises a 24/7 programming extravaganza, featuring popular creators and celebrities like reality TV stars Lala Kent (“Vanderpump Rules”) and Paige DeSorbo (“Southern Charm”).
Paige DeSorbo is even launching her own original show, where she’ll develop brand-new content exclusively for Amazon Live. Brands like Tastemade and The Bump will also host streams, showcasing their products to eager viewers.
Viewers can seamlessly browse and purchase the items influencers showcase by using the Amazon Shopping app on their mobile device.
By entering “shop the show” into the search bar, users are instantly transported to a shopping carousel featuring the products they see on TV in real-time.
QVC and HSN paved the way on Freevee
While this isn’t the first time Prime Video has introduced an e-commerce shopping experience, as seen with the virtual store for “The Boys” spinoff series “Gen V,” Amazon Live marks a significant step in the company’s live shopping endeavors.
Last year, QVC and HSN – the top two shopping channels – launched linear offerings on Freevee, paving the way for Amazon’s current move.
