Users can now enroll from home by taking a photo of their palm, enabling seamless checkout at over 500 Whole Foods, Amazon stores, and 150 third-party locations.
How does Amazon One do it?
All palm images captured via the app are encrypted and securely transmitted to AWS cloud servers, with no ability to save or download them on mobile devices. Amazon affirms over 8 million successful Amazon One uses so far.
Enterprise Adoption Beyond retail, the app launch aligns with Amazon’s efforts to extend palm recognition for enterprise identity verification, allowing companies to authenticate employees through the technology.
