Broadening Scope and New AppRevenue’s IncreasedGlobal Growth and Initiatives

Muslim Pro, a popular lifestyle app for Muslims, has raised a $20M Series A round over a decade after launch to drive the next stage of its global expansion.

The Singapore-based startup behind the app, Bitsmedia, closed the round co-led by new backer Gobi Partners and existing investor CMIA Capital Partners.

Broadening Scope and New App

Muslim Pro provides features like prayer time notifications, a Qibla compass, and Quran recordings to over 20 million monthly active users. It now plans to move into more Middle East and North Africa markets.

Bitsmedia also aims to launch an AI-powered Islamic search engine on the app before Ramadan 2024. This would allow Muslims to get verified answers to questions about their faith.

Revenue’s Increased

Other incoming products include expanded Quran learning content and Muslim lifestyle streaming through the startup’s Qalbox video platform.

These value-added services have boosted revenue beyond just advertising.

Global Growth and Initiatives

While Muslim Pro counts 150 million downloads, Bitsmedia sees room for growth in Western markets like the US, where usage patterns differ. It ultimately envisions Muslim Pro as a “digital home for all things Muslim.”

Gobi Partners’ investment comes through its TaqwaTech initiative, backing startups tailored to Muslim consumers globally. With fresh funds, Bitsmedia hopes to sustain growth while achieving profitability after prioritizing expansion.
