A Billionaire’s Boost for Education

Eduardo Saverin, the billionaire co-founder of Facebook, has made headlines once again. This time, it’s for a generous $15 million donation to the Singapore American School through his family foundation. This contribution marks the largest financial gift in the school’s history.

STEM Gets a Saverin Spark

The donation is earmarked for significant enhancements to the school’s facilities. Plans include the development of new play spaces and state-of-the-art science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) facilities. This investment aims to foster innovation and creativity among students.

From Silicon Valley to Singapore

Saverin, who moved to Singapore in 2009 and renounced his U.S. citizenship in 2011, has an estimated wealth of $30.5 billion, primarily from his Meta Platforms holdings. His donation underscores a commitment to educational advancement in his adopted home.
