Influencers Rule the Roost
A recent Shopify survey has unveiled the growing importance of social media and influencer marketing in the e-commerce landscape.
The study, which polled over 13,000 merchants across multiple markets, found that 73% of US merchants consider social media engagement their top strategy for maintaining customer relationships.
From Likes to Sales
Social media’s impact extends beyond customer retention, proving equally vital for attracting new customers.
Fifty-two percent of US merchants cited organic social media content as their most effective marketing channel for customer acquisition in the past year. Paid social media followed at 26%, outperforming traditional methods like email and search engine marketing.
The Future is Social
Looking ahead, 41% of US merchants believe influencer or creator marketing will be the most impactful marketing trend in the coming year.
This aligns with the growing emphasis on social shopping features by platforms like TikTok and YouTube, which are continuously expanding their e-commerce capabilities to capitalize on the trend.
