Marcos Hails High-Tech Investment
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. inaugurated the StBattalion (StB) Giga Factory in New Clark City, Tarlac.
This facility, funded by Australian firm St Baker Energy, is the Philippines’ first manufacturing plant for advanced Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) batteries.
Boosting Clean Energy and Jobs
The StB Giga Factory aims to position the Philippines as a regional leader in clean storage and renewable energy.
It’s expected to create 2,500 jobs by 2030 and contribute over PHP5 billion annually to the local economy at full capacity.
Export-Oriented Production
With an initial production capacity of 300 megawatt-hours annually, the factory plans to export 70% of its output to Australia, Southeast Asia, and North America.
This move signals the Philippines’ readiness to become a hub for high-tech, high-impact investments in the region.
