“Request for startups”
Startup accelerator Y Combinator published an updated “Request for Startups” list on Wednesday, outlining key areas of interest for its next funding batch.
The comprehensive list includes climate tech, healthcare innovation, enterprise software, and other promising sectors.
Emerging extended realities
After a multi-year gap since its last RFS, YC now wants founders to tackle challenges like ending cancer, bringing back US manufacturing, and building for emerging extended realities.
Several items also cover applications of AI across robotics, biotech, business automation, and content generation.
“Valuable direction to entrepreneurs”
“The world is full of founders with expertise that could be tapped into something new and great; we hope that this list inspires some of those people to do so — or if they’re already building, to apply to YC,” wrote Managing Director Dalton Caldwell.
While digital currencies are notably absent beyond stablecoins, the update provides valuable direction to entrepreneurs on promising opportunities suited for YC’s mentorship and seed funding.
Applications for YC’s Summer 2024 batch close April 22, with priority deadline February 20.
