The Apple guru’s crystal Ball

In 1983, Steve Jobs foresaw a technology akin to modern AI chatbots. During a presentation at the International Design Conference in Aspen, he envisioned machines capturing the essence of great thinkers.

Jobs imagined querying these devices about historical figures’ perspectives long after their deaths.

Books 2.0 the interactive edition

Jobs praised books for their direct knowledge transfer but lamented their lack of interactivity. He dreamed of a future where readers could engage directly, asking questions to the text.

This concept mirrors today’s AI-driven chatbots, which aim to provide interactive, knowledge-based responses.

Forty years later, Jobs’ prediction is materializing through AI chatbots like ChatGPT. These tools, trained on vast datasets including books, attempt to emulate human-like responses.

Though not perfect, they represent a significant step towards Jobs’ vision of interactive knowledge repositories.
