Microsoft is going all-in on generative AI, unveiling a new lineup of AI-powered PCs and deeply integrating its Copilot technology into the core Windows experience.

The highlights? Copilot+ PCs pack dedicated AI chips for novel capabilities like retrospective search.

Brace yourselves for Windows “AI operating system”

Beyond hardware, Microsoft aims to transform Windows into an “AI operating system.”

Standout features include Recall, which helps resurface past apps and files based on user activity, plus AI-powered image upscaling, live translations, and creative tools.

Under the hood, a new runtime enables AI capabilities without internet connectivity.

Extra dollop of immersive experiences

Microsoft showcased upcoming 3D and VR experiences powered by Windows, including a partnership with Meta to bring interactive “volumetric apps” to Quest headsets.

Developers also gain new AI tools, from streamlined model deployment to customizable copilot agents for business workflows.
