FPT, a Vietnamese tech powerhouse, joins forces with Nvidia to build a $200 million “AI factory” in Vietnam.

This strategic partnership aligns with FPT’s goal of establishing Vietnam as an AI powerhouse and accelerating AI adoption across the region, including Vietnam, Japan, and South Korea.

One-stop shop for AI and cloud services

The partners aim to create a comprehensive hub for AI and cloud services, offering “AI products, GPU infrastructure, tech experts, and domain expertise for clients,” as stated by FPT.

Additionally, the factory will reinforce FPT’s own AI research and development efforts, focusing on generative AI, autonomous driving, and sustainability.

As part of this collaboration, FPT has joined the Nvidia partner network, while Nvidia will provide its programs to FPT to bolster the latter’s AI workforce. This move demonstrates a commitment to nurturing AI talent and expertise.

AI powerhouse in the making

FPT, a publicly listed company valued at $5.5 billion on the Ho Chi Minh City stock exchange, recently reported impressive financial results, with a 20.6% year-on-year increase in revenue and a 19.5% profit growth in the first month of 2024.

The company’s diverse service offerings span industries such as telecommunications, education, IT services, and retail, positioning it as a formidable player in Vietnam’s AI aspirations.
