The concurrent rides feature caters to users booking for guests who may not have the Uber app or even a smartphone.
Trip details can be shared via WhatsApp or text message, including driver information and a four-digit PIN to start the ride.
Cash is still king
In a nod to local preferences, Uber allows riders to pay for these concurrent trips using cash or through the app.
