Singapore’s AI Verify Foundation (AIVF) has unveiled AI Verify Project Moonshot, a groundbreaking toolkit designed to manage safety and security risks in AI applications.

Launched in collaboration with industry giants DataRobot, IBM, Singtel, and Temasek, the toolkit combines red teaming, benchmarking, and baseline testing for large language models (LLMs) into a unified platform.

AIVF and MLCommons join forces

As part of Project Moonshot, AIVF and AI testing peer MLCommons are working hand-in-hand to create a unified safety benchmark suite, solidified by a mutual memorandum of intent signed on May 29.

This strategic partnership aims to establish industry-wide standards for AI safety and security.

AIVF, launched in June 2023, has already amassed an impressive roster of over 120 members. The latest additions, Amazon Web Services and Dell, have joined as premier members, further strengthening the foundation’s commitment to AI safety.

Lift-off at Asia Tech x Singapore project

Moonshot was officially announced by Josephine Teo, Singapore’s Minister for Communications and Information, during the 2024 Asia Tech x Singapore conference.

“The provision of this new tool is significant as it aims to help developers and data scientists test their LLM applications against a baseline of risks, thereby accelerating the adoption of AI,” said Anup Kumar, IBM’s CTO of data and AI for Asia Pacific.

Earlier this week, IBM announced a partnership with AI Singapore to help evaluate and enhance Sea-Lion – the latter’s LLM – through its business-centered generative AI platform, Watsonx.

This collaborative effort further demonstrates the industry’s commitment to responsible AI development.
