She scrambled to purchase a specific circus tent Donaldson spotted online to meet his branding vision.

Behind the outlandish ideas lies a relentless drive towards excellence and innovation. Donaldson routinely scraps expensive videos if quality displeases him – prioritizing “the best possible content” above all, says Carter.

His dream-chasing creative process tests the boundaries of YouTube programming.

MrBeast’s Stunt Factory

The operation has ballooned into a 250-person enterprise based in Donaldson’s North Carolina hometown, complete with dedicated departments like thumbnail design and owned homes for housing staff.

While some employees log reasonable hours, unpredictable shoot demands stretch workweeks towards extremes.

“It’s 100% addictive to live that life,” raves Carter, who helped wrangle tactical approval to stage go-kart races on Tokyo streets. She says the tireless quest to astonish gave her opportunities and access impossible elsewhere.

As YouTube increasingly resembles a Silicon Valley-sized economy, Donaldson represents the platform’s next-generation media mogul and its ethos of no-limits entertainment.

His stunt factory churns out ever more elaborate pop culture moments, yet it still feels like it’s just getting started.
