About Inkitt and their vision

Inkitt, a startup with apps for self-publishing and distributing AI-optimized fiction, has raised a $37 million Series C round led by Vinod Khosla.

The Berlin-founded, San Francisco-based company has attracted 33 million users and published dozens of bestsellers.

Inkitt uses data science and AI to refine user-submitted stories and adapt them for different formats like video and games.

AI-written bestsellers? really?

The new funding will expand its content library and personalization technology, with the goal of establishing a 21st-century multimedia entertainment empire.

Inkitt’s apps have increased engagement time despite broader declines in reading. The company ranks as the 11th best-selling publisher globally, claiming a “20x” higher success rate than traditional publishers. Revenues have doubled annually.

Khosla believes AI will enable hyper-personalized entertainment. With strong growth and big ambitions, Inkitt aims to leverage AI to revolutionize publishing and build the next media powerhouse.
