Decentralized social network Farcaster is leveraging Web 2.0 onboarding and engagement tactics to drive adoption of its blockchain-based platform.
Allowing easy sign-ups without crypto wallets, the network has seen daily active users surge 10x to over 61,500 after launching “Frames” for interactive in-app experiences.
Co-founded in 2020 by former Coinbase employees, Farcaster aims to bring crypto’s ownership and control to social media through features like minting NFTs and earning tokens.
But it has intentionally minimized blockchain barriers to grow. Invite rewards and post limits also curb bot risks.
