What is our goal?
We want to create a free, comprehensive tech news site for SouthEast Asia.
Some of us lived for awhile in the US and had fallen in love with sites like Techcrunch.
And we’d love to build something similar for SEA
But wait.. this doesn’t exist in SE Asia?
We love reading tech news and feel like there is a major gap in the market. There are some good sites like TechinAsia and e27.co but most of their content is paywalled.
And when we asked our friends whether they paid, almost nobody did. And so they were essentially just getting their regional tech news ad hoc from social media like Twitter and Linkedin.
We see that as a gap we can fill.
Who are we?
We are a group of tech folks in SouthEast Asia that have worked for some of the big tech companies in the region like Lazada.
And we have also started a number of tech companies ourselves. So we feel like we have a pretty good grasp of the tech scene here and can do a decent job of curating news.
What are our principles?
- We will try to be comprehensive (meaning we’ll try co cover all major stories)
- We’re free. No hidden costs.
- We will experiment and try new things
