Broadcasting deals pack a punch
Group One Holdings, the parent company of One Championship, is eyeing a profitable 2024.
The martial arts organization has grown significantly since its 2011 launch, now broadcasting to over 190 countries through One Championship and One Esports platforms.
Revenue roundhouse kick
The company’s revenue surged by 25% in 2022, primarily driven by broadcasting deals. A partnership Amazon Prime Video in the US boosted audience numbers by 46% between December 2022 and May 2023.
Chief Financial Officer Hua Fung Teh reports a further 50% year-on-year revenue growth in 2023, expecting the momentum to continue in 2024.
Beyond the octagon
Group One isn’t limiting itself to martial arts. Its esports unit, One Esports, turned profitable in 2022 thanks to increased sponsorship revenue.
The company has partnered Samsung to develop the One Esports app, offering exclusive content to Samsung Galaxy users in select Asian countries.
Group One remains open to various growth options, including a potential US IPO, depending on market conditions and strategic needs.
