Mommy’s new market move
Singaporean retailer Motherswork has opened an offline store in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, marking its foray into click-and-collect shopping. Customers can now opt for home delivery or in-store pickup for online purchases.
Christina de los Reyes, Motherswork’s country manager in Vietnam, cited a rising demand for quality family products, stating, “This market presents a potential annual revenue of US$7 billion and a growth rate of 30% to 40%.”
Parenthood paradise unlocked
Motherswork, acquired earlier this year by The Parentinc, owner of theAsianparent, offers toys, strollers, books, and nursery products through an online platform and physical shops.
In addition to its new Vietnam branch, the retailer operates 10 other offline stores – two in Singapore and eight in China – selling over 300 brands, including Avent, Joolz, and Stokke. It also offers a proprietary line of baby bedding and decor under the Little Rei brand.
Despite Vietnam’s rapidly aging population and low birth rate, Motherswork’s expansion puts it in direct competition with Con Cung, currently boasting over 700 offline stores nationwide.
