- Airbnb CEO predicts AI revolution in apps by 2026.
- Current apps unchanged despite AI hype.
- Chesky anticipates “giant leap” in AI integration, transforming daily digital interactions.
A time capsule… for now
Despite the AI hype train chugging along at full steam since ChatGPT’s 2022 debut, Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky points out a curious fact: our everyday apps remain largely unchanged.
Speaking at the Aspen Ideas Festival, Chesky noted that AI has captured our imagination (and maybe a touch of our fear), but hasn’t yet transformed our daily digital interactions.
Chesky believes we’re on the cusp of a significant shift. He predicts that within the next two to three years, AI will reach “that last 10%” where “all the gains are.”
This leap forward will likely manifest in system-level integrations, such as Apple’s upcoming Intelligence feature, which promises to elevate everyday tasks like email proofreading and travel planning.
2026: the year your phone gets a major facelift?
The Airbnb co-founder is betting big on AI’s transformative power. He anticipates a “giant leap” by 2026, suggesting that the apps we use daily will look dramatically different.
Chesky’s company is already positioning itself for this AI-driven future, having recently acquired an AI startup founded by one of Siri’s creators.
So, while your phone’s home screen might look like a blast from the past today, don’t expect it to stay that way for long.
